Alloy 20 fasteners are made from a nickel-chromium-iron based austenitic superalloy, also known as Carpenter 20 or UNS N08020, and are known for their excellent resistance to corrosion (especially pitting and crevice corrosion) and high mechanical strength. This durable and ductile material performs well in harsh conditions, including exposure to various acids like sulfuric and hydrochloric acid, and at high temperatures. Consequently, these fasteners are commonly used in the chemical processing, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical industries for applications requiring reliable performance in corrosive and demanding environments.
